Contemporary Indonesian restaurant tenant improvement located in a 7-story mixed used building. A technically challenging project located in a tenant space at street level with apartments above and underground parking below. The design melds industrial exposed systems, contemporary massing, and authentic Indonesian textiles to create a dramatic, alluring interior.

Hangzhou Bay, China
Schematic design and design development for a 45,000 ft² exhibition hall located on a lake surrounded by a new urban district. Design includes an immersive sphere theater exhibition areas showcasing future development in the district. This project was designed in collaboration with NVision Studio in Los Angeles.

Stronghold Gym
The Brewery, Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles
Conversion of a 1903 Historic Landmark, the California Edison Los Angeles #3 Steam Power Plant boiler room into Los Angeles’ tallest indoor climbing gym. Design includes roped-climbing and bouldering walls, an elevated gymnasium and yoga studio built over locker/shower/restroom areas.
Farmboy Kitchen
Hollywood, CA
2,500 ft² restaurant tenant improvement melding industrial and rustic styles with exposed roof trusses, ducting, and conduit softened with distressed wood and smooth marble finishes. Kitchen includes a rotisserie and plancha for meats and large mixers and ovens for baked goods.

Old Town Pasadena, CA
5,000 ft² restaurant tenant improvement in Old Town Pasadena. Design includes restoration of historic facades and exposed brick wall interiors. Wrought iron fixtures and rough-sawn wood finishes help to create a warm, inviting dining experience.
101 Cider House
Mission Junction - Chinatown, LA
Conversion of a former seafood-packing warehouse into a hard cider brewery/distribution facility. Design includes a tasting room/bar with a 2,500 ft² patio.

Screen printing and apparel company hired ZA to design a 5,250 ft² two-story addition to an existing 2,600 ft² warehouse/office building. Design features creative office spaces over a manufacturing warehouse with 15’ ceilings.
The Revery LA
Mission Junction, LA
9,000 ft² photography and video production studio furnished with commercial and test kitchens used for filming cooking shows. Via a coordinated effort with the interior designer, exposed roof truss ceilings and original steel windows painted white with large skylights and earth tones produce a bright and airy ethereal space creating the perfect light conditions for photography.

New single family house with attached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
Westchester Craftsman
Westchester, LA
Once a featureless ranch-style home, the house is now reborn as a Craftsman Bungalow. The home was completely stripped down to its framing with only portions of its roof and exterior walls remaining. A new vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and kingposts give the home volume. The new structure is expressed on the building’s exterior as gables creating both a front porch and rear covered patio area.
MURPHY RESIDENCE REMODEL
Glendale, CA
Interior remodel of a historic home in Glendale, CA. The remodel provided an open modern interior layout with spacious functional areas.
Higgins Penthouse
Downtown LA
Remodel and upper level addition to an existing penthouse loft located on the 10th floor of the historic Higgins Building. Updated design includes open plan kitchen to take advantage of double height ceilings, new 2nd-level bathroom and remodeled bedroom and office areas.
Malibu Residence
Malibu, CA
This residence is an in-kind replacement for a house that was lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. The structure is designed within the pre-existing structure’s footprint and massing in order to take advantage of an expedited permitting process. The new design updates the design with a contemporary style utilizing materials and details that also provide a high level of fire damage protection.
