STRONGHOLD CLIMBING GYM
Los Angeles, CA
Commercial, Tenant Improvement
14,000 sqft.
Stronghold Climbing Gym’s Lincoln Heights location is housed in a historic 100 year old un-reinforced masonry building that once served as a power plant for the California Edison Company. Originally, it supplied electricity to the city’s street lighting and the red car rail system.
Today, the space has been transformed into an exceptional climbing gym. It features expansive climbing areas within a 60’ x 200’ open section of the building, with climbing walls soaring up to 45 feet tall. The gym also includes an upstairs fitness space, offering a well-rounded environment for both climbers and fitness enthusiasts.
This adaptive reuse project not only preserves the building’s historical significance but also addresses its structural challenges, breathing new life into the space as a vibrant and functional destination for the climbing community.
