RESILIENT COASTAL RESIDENCE

This 2,800-square-foot coastal residence is being reconstructed following wildfire-related loss in Malibu. Designed with resilience at its core, the home utilizes a steel-framed structural system and fire-resistant material palette appropriate for its location within a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The project also incorporates a 500-square-foot attached ADU and a 500-square-foot JADU converted from the existing garage, expanding the property's flexibility for multi-generational living and guest accommodations. At the heart of the design, expansive glazed openings connect the primary living spaces to both the front and rear yards, creating a light-filled environment that strengthens the relationship between the home and its coastal setting. The result is a contemporary residence that balances durability, functionality, and a strong connection to place.
